The Werribee Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Stuart Balloch to the position of Football Operations Manager.
Mark Stone, who has been in the role for the last year, is standing down for personal reasons but will remain with the club in a recruiting role.
Werribee CEO Mark Penaluna sees the appointments as a win-win.
“Two very passionate Werribee people returning to the roles that they love and do so well is definitely a positive move.
"We have a very important season in front of us right now and a lot of planning for the future as well. Getting the right people in the right places is vital, and this is an integral part of that process.”
Stu returns to Avalon Airport Oval in a role he occupied for eight years, after a year as Football Operations Manager of the Essendon District Football League.
While the title may be the same, Stu sees a different scenario.
“The decision to be a standalone VFL side changes every aspect about our football department. That, the new facilities, plus my love for this footy club, drew me back.
"It will be very different and very challenging but a fantastic opportunity for me, the club and the City of Wyndham to have its own footy team again.”
Mark Stone will remain with the club in the role that has become his trademark and his passion: recruiting.
“I have some things in my life at the moment that need my attention. I have a great passion for the Werribee Football Club, and now that we are standalone, the recruiting area becomes absolutely critical to our football department.
"It is an area where I feel I can make a real and tangible contribution to the future of the Werribee Football Club.”
