The Werribee Football Club is pleased to welcome Samantha Hunter as its newest board member.
Samantha brings more than 20 years' experience in community engagement leadership to her role with the board, having been a director of the Country Fire Authority, Chair of Crime Stoppers Australia, and Chief Executive Officer of Crime Stoppers Victoria. She was a member of the Founding Committee for Jamie Oliver's "Fifteen" Australia and currently mentors emerging leaders in emergency service and law enforcement.
Samantha is passionate about sport's ability to transform lives and unite communities. She is particularly excited by Werribee’s plans to work deeply into the Wyndham community to not only exhibit sporting excellence on the ground but to also harness the positive work of the club throughout the local area.
Samantha had the opportunity to perform her first official duties as a Werribee board member at Sunday’s Player Parents’ Day, making a special presentation to the parents of the club’s 2017 first-game players.
“Sam has both the know-how, experience, and persistence to be able to fulfil the critical portfolio of Women in Sport and Community Engagement,” Werribee president Martin Carter told guests gathered at the pre-match function.
“Sam is excited about the opportunity to further champion the Werribee Football Club’s causes in women’s football and multicultural integration.”
