With two wins from two away games to start the season, Werribee will play its first home game of 2024, hosting Richmond at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday.

The match will be played off the back of a league-wide bye over the AFL’s Gather Round, where Werribee had six players play in the Aami State Game, where the VFL took on the SANFL. 

Both Werribee and Richmond enter the match with 2-0 starts. Werribee are coming off a three-point thrilling victory at Southport, after defeating the Cats comfortably down the highway in round one. Richmond began their season defeating the reigning premiers Gold Coast and then narrowly overcoming the Swans at Punt Road in round two.

The clash will be Werribee’s first game back at Avalon Airport Oval after their record-breaking 2023 campaign, with Saturday’s clash the first since our preliminary final win over Brisbane which put Werribee into their first Grand Final since 2005.

Senior coach Jimmy Allan is anticipating an exciting clash in what is his first game back at Avalon Airport oval; “We’re really looking forward to another big test against a side who has also started the season in good form. Our players love playing at Avalon Airport Oval and are looking forward to seeing our fans out in force for our first home game of 2024”.

2024 members have free entry. If you are a 2024 member who is yet to receive your membership card, officials will be on hand to assist. Entry for non-members is $10 for adults and concession $5. Kids under 16 are free.
