The Werribee Football Club and the Box Hill Hawks will again come together to do battle for beyondblue Cup this Saturday as they aim to smash the stigma surrounding depression and anxiety and show their support for beyondblue.
The ninth edition of the cup will feature the theme “talking about mental health is the game changer”, which aims to encourage members of the community to have the conversation with those around them about their own mental health.
beyondblue Ambassador and renowned sports presenter Brad McEwan will also serve as headline speaker at Werribee’s pre-game president’s luncheon, sharing his family’s experience of mental illness and the impact of losing his father and brother to suicide some 20 years ago.
Since first joining forces in 2010, beyondblue, Werribee, and the Box Hill Hawks have worked to support the cup and promote beyondblue programs and services to supporters.
beyondblue is proud to partner with both clubs to help create an Australian community that understands anxiety and depression and empowers all people at all life stages to seek support.
The beyondblue Cup kicks off at 1pm on Saturday at Avalon Airport Oval.
