The Tigers season comes to an end.
Senior coach John Lamont summed up everyone’s thoughts after the elimination final loss to Collingwood last Saturday.
“It was disappointing to lose the way we did. All credit to Collingwood though, we weren’t allowed to play well. We weren’t able to absorb their pressure and play the way we wanted to play. Our game never really got going because Collingwood did not allow us to get going”
It was a bitter pill for the players, coaches, staff and supporters to swallow after a season that has brought so many positives.
“We can take a lot away from winning 11 games and winning at Port Melbourne earlier in the year plus beating Box Hill and Williamstown twice was good. We played a lot of young players. Last Saturday we had I think 5 players in the team who were eligible to play as the 23rd player and 13 players in their first VFL final. There are plenty of positives but it still is disappointing to go out the way we did”
