With the season approaching soon, the Werribee boys take away two wins against Coburg on the weekend.
Daniel Fraser praised the efforts of the development side in what was their first run on the ground for the year.
"In very scrappy conditions, very windy conditions, we started a little slowly, but worked into the game really well, played some really good footy in the second and third quarters. Overall it was a really pleasing result."
The development game also saw the return of three Werribee players on the field.
"It was good to have Tom Gribble back from injury along with Jake Sharp in their first games back and of course Lee Dale coming back from a very serious injury last year. It was really pleasing to see them all get through their first games quite well."
The Development ended the game with an 8 point win, defeating Coburg 12.7.79 to 11.5.71. The best players for the day were Sherlock, Mennen, Porter, Speight, Munro and Butt.
The senior game saw a decisive 6 goal win over Coburg, with Werribee dominating the first three quarters of the game. The windy conditions helped see an early push from the boys to gain a 49 point lead at half time, with Clarke and Mullett each racking up 12 disposals and Mounterford on 10 going.
The seniors side saw a total of 17 North Melbourne listed players running out onto the field, offering a new dynamic on the field. John Lamont praised the way the two groups are coming together and was pleased with the even contribution of players across the board.
Final scores had Werribee defeating Coburg 16.13.109 to 11.6.72
