With finals fever well and truly in the air, Werribee Football Club marched down to Soldiers Reserve for Reclink Australia's Grand Final Development Day.
Reclink Australia are an organisation that run sporting programs for people of all abilities, genders, ages and cultural backgrounds who have experienced or are experiencing disadvantage.
There are 13 teams in the Victorian Reclink League one of which is Werribee. On Wednesday they had a regional training and education day in the lead up to their Grand Final next week.
The Werribee Football Club were responsible for taking them through on field drills and skills led by Multicultural Development Officer Mar Gattek, Community Development Manager Hamish MacInnes and Werribee full-back and former North Melbourne rookie Daniel Neilson.
Following a fantastic on field session, Werribee Senior Coach Mark Williams spoke to the group about the power of football and team sports in providing people a vehicle to change their life for the better. 'Choco' also imparted some first-hand advice on what makes a Grand Final such a special event and how best to prepare for the big day.It was no doubt a rewarding experience for all involved.
From everyone at the Werribee Football Club, good luck to the Reclink teams in their upcoming Grand Finals!
And as always, we thank Werribee FC Community Partners CDC Victoria and Pacific Werribee for their continued support.
