Werribee returned home for the first time in 2025, hosting Footscray in the HealthWest Cup.
On a special day for the club, Werribee unfurled the 2024 premiership flag with the help of key figures from both the 1993 and 2024 premierships—Bruce Montgomery, Frank Lesiputty, Jack Henderson, Nick Coughlan—alongside president Martin Carter and CEO Mark Penaluna.
But Footscray spoiled the celebrations, slotting a goal in the final minute to snatch a four-point win.
