Werribee Launches Junior Academy
23 June 2025

The Werribee Football Club is proud to launch its first standalone junior academy, marking an exciting new chapter in the club’s commitment to youth development.
This new club-led initiative will provide another platform for football talent to emerge from the City of Wyndham.
Werribee Football Club Community Coordinator Krista Woodroffe said the program represents a significant platform for the future.
“We’re proud to launch the WFC Junior Academy as a key step in developing young talent across the Wyndham region. With a focus on high-performance training and skill development, this program strengthens the pathway for aspiring athletes to take the next step in their football journey.”
The program has been made possible thanks to the support of A Cleaner World, Kieser Werribee, and Corio Waste Management, who have all increased their sponsorships to help bring the academy to life.
Melisa Thompson, speaking on behalf of Corio Waste Management, said:
“Corio Waste Management is proud to be a founding sponsor of the Werribee Football Club Talent Academy.
With a 24-year relationship with the club, we’re pleased to strengthen our partnership through a program that nurtures the next generation of footballers in Melbourne’s west.
We recognise the value of investing in people and supporting the communities in which we operate. We look forward to seeing the program grow and thrive.”
The invite-only program is aimed at City of Wyndham-based players selected in Western Football Netball League Under 13 and Under 14 interleague teams, for both boys and girls.
The program consists of five free sessions and is delivered by Werribee’s community team, with support from VFL players, coaches, and high-performance staff.
Off the field, participants will also benefit from Kieser performance sessions, made possible through the involvement of academy partner Kieser Werribee, along with leadership and mental preparation workshops.
A high-performance excursion to North Melbourne Football Club will also take place, building on Werribee’s strong partnership with the AFL club.
The academy kicks off tonight, Monday, June 23, with a talent identification session at Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval featuring over 70 participants.

Following our recent 2024 VFL Premiership success, the Werribee Football Club is excited to announce that our full suite of membership packages are now available for 2025.
