Along with everyone in the football community, we, at the Werribee Football Club, are saddened by the announcement regarding the Northern Bullants/Preston Football Club, our on-field opponents in the final round of the 2025 season.

To think that a proud club like Northern Bullants/Preston (est. 1882) won’t be part of the 150th year of VFA/VFL celebrations in 2026 is a sign of how much the football landscape has changed.

We faced a similar set of circumstances in the mid-1990s, and we all remember the plight of Frankston not so long ago.

Clubs like ours, the Dolphins, and the Bullants have a bond with their community, staff, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters that embodies a passion and loyalty like nothing else.

This has served Werribee and Frankston well in surviving this kind of adversity in the past, and hopefully can be the catalyst for the Bullants/Preston faithful to unite and consolidate a strategy that will see them back on the field sooner rather than later.

We at Werribee will do whatever we can to assist.
