Another Werribee Junior To Pull Back On The Black And Gold
13 November 2025
Werribee is excited to announce its second new signing for the 2026 VFL season, with Werribee Districts junior Jordan Busuttil making the move from Essendon VFL.
Busuttil played 12 games in his first year at state league level for Essendon’s VFL program. Splitting his time between inside and outside midfield, Busuttil averaged more than 13 disposals and three clearances per game, and capped off his season with a 24-disposal outing against Sandringham in the final match of the year.
Busuttil has been a standout performer in the VAFA in recent seasons with Williamstown CYMS, where he plays alongside current Werribee forward Harrison Miller. He won back-to-back best and fairest awards in 2023 and 2024. This year, he still polled 16 of a possible 21 votes from his seven CY's appearances, highlighting his dominance at local level.
He showed his class on the representative stage as well, earning the best-on-ground medal for the Big V as the VAFA defeated the Bendigo Football League. In that match, he collected 32 disposals and 20 contested possessions to claim the honour.
Busuttil began his football journey with Werribee Districts in the Western Football Netball League, playing 136 games through to the under-19s before moving to Williamstown CYMS.
Football Manager Kyle Hartigan is excited about what Busuttil can bring to Melbourne Avalon Airport Oval.
“It’s great to have another Werribee person walk through the doors after Josh Kellett’s signing earlier in the week. Jordan will be a great addition, giving us another mature body who can play both inside and outside in the midfield mix. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do for us next year.”
It is time to write the next chapter in the history of the Werribee Football Club.
